Tejas Tropicals was founded on the enduring love of plants and a sincere desire to promote knowledge about them, so that others could experience the joy of cultivating and displaying exotic tropical plants successfully. As a result, the nursery is committed to the conservation and flourishing of all the species shared with the gardeners and landscape architects who rely on the carefully nurtured selection, grown organically and with environmental sustainability in mind.

Your complete satisfaction is greatly valued at Tejas Tropicals.

Dust to Destination – the start of something special

Four long years ago, Tejas Tropicals began as a labor of love for tropical plant aficionados David and Cheri Glover. Through intense work and dedication to their vision, they transformed 20 acres of land into a lush plant paradise outside Houston, Texas. The combined depth of David’s encyclopedic knowledge of plants -- cultivated since childhood and now shared freely -- and Cheri’s lifelong love and caring for all living creatures, saw the property naturally evolve into a haven for life and learning.

Today, the family-run nursery grows the largest selection of cold hardy tropical plants in the USA, including choice finds of the most rare and recently discovered species from around the globe. Visitors to Tejas Tropicals experience a greenhouse complex, pond, thriving bamboo grove, pavilion for groups of plant lovers to gather and learn and housing for the monkeys, the kangaroos, the geese and the swans which lend their charm to this destination location.

Pledge of Commitment to Values through Practice

“Plants touch all kinds of people and the places they work and live. This very personal connection inspires our specialty nursery, to deliver the services real people count on and to apply our values, with pride, to the way we conduct every aspect of the company. We believe it makes a difference, and we believe you care.”
