Butia

Butia is a genus of pinnate palms commonly named pindo palms. The most cold tolerant palms are included in this group. They range from trunkless to medium sized trunking palms with persistent leaf bases. The genus is closely related to Syagrus and Jubaea and the hybrids produced from these are very desirable.
