Chamaedorea

Chamaedorea is a genus of over 100 species of mostly small palms from Mexico and Central America. These are understory palms so do well in shady conditions in the garden or indoors. The leaves are pinnate or undividedly pinnate or fishtail shaped. These are very pretty little palms and some are extremely cold tolerant and many are small enough to grow in containers making them easy to protect during cold weather.
