Colocasia

Colocasias are also known as Elephant Ears. These plants can be grown as marginals along ponds edge but actually perform better in garden beds, especially in zone 7b and 8. Keeping the tubers dry while dormant provides better cold hardiness. We are collecting a number of hard to find varieties. Most of these have colorful leaves and stems and many are clumping in habit. To perform at their best they require heavy fertilizing with nitrogen. We ship freshly dug fully rooted plants during the growing season or dormant rhizomes during winter ready to plant in the spring. These plants look so tropical and are easy to care for and are hardy to zone 7b. Enjoy.
